KNYSNA FINE ART is one of South Africa’s finest galleries. It specialises in contemporary South African art in a variety of media although a growing number of international fine artists are also exhibited.
The owner is Trent Read, elder son of the late Everard Read, who was the doyen of South African art dealers and Trent is the fifth generation of his family to be a dealer. He worked at Christie’s in London for several years and also worked in the USA but most of his career has been spent as a director of Everard Read in Johannesburg. He moved to Knysna in 1994 and opened the gallery in 1997.
Trent is considered an expert in contemporary South African art but his knowledge of the fine and applied arts in general is broad. Clients of the gallery have access to a wide spectrum of expertise from his international links
New works by all artists are uploaded onto this web site daily.

KNYSNA FINE ART est l’une des galeries les plus reconnue d’Afrique du Sud. Elle est spécialisée dans l’art contemporain Sud Africain à travers multiples moyens. Un nombre croissant d’artiste internationaux sont aussi exposés. Le propriétaire est Trent Read, le fils ainé du défunt Everard Read qui est le doyen des marchands d’art Sud Africain. Trent fait parti de la 5e génération de la famille à reprendre le flambeau.
Il a travaillé à Christie’s à Londres pendant plusieurs années. Il a aussi travaillé aux Etats-Unis mais il a consacré la majeure partie de sa carrière en tant que Directeur de Everard Read à Johannesburg.
Puis, il s’est déplacé à Knysna en 1994 et à ouvert la présente galerie en 1997. Trent est considéré comme un expert en matière d’art contemporain Sud Africain et sa connaissance des arts appliqués est très large. Les clients de la galerie ont accès à une gamme trés étendue d’expertise grâce à son expérience international.
