Working in oils with technical finesse and intimate focus, Olaf Bisschoff's muse lies firmly with landscapes. But the true edge in his work lies not in the mountains and skies but rather in the mindset of the viewer. His first sell-out solo "Terra Incognita" (2008) probed the romantic concepts of the invented landscape and its illusive ability to evoke melancholy, longing and recognition. His new body of work "Chaos" aspires to change the cycle of landscape painting and makes the outcome of the new works as unpredictable as the weather. Bisschoff's focus now falls squarely on the fragility of the viewer's mindset.
