Richie Marley Madyira
was born in Harare in 1989.Richie was granted a scholarship by British American Tobacco to study at National Gallery of Zimbabwe school of Visual Art and Design, later exhibiting at national gallery of Zimbabwe and gallery Delta, his work can be found at Hollard, Nando’s Canada. Richie is now living and working in Cape Town. His colourful paintings are predominantly figurative. Richie work is rooted in his lived experience. He tackles themes such as the living conditions in poorest community to the hardships he experienced as a child and subsequently as an immigrant-his his visual storytelling.
