Jaycene-Fay Ravenscroft is a visual artist, poet, and musician living in South Africa. In 2022 she earned a BA degree in Art History and Ancient History at the University of South Africa while working full-time in the art world. She has also written art history and poetry articles for various online magazines worldwide and in print.

Ravenscroft’s passion for writing poetry can be found in the titles of her works, which form part of her artistic process. Her photographs capture intimate moments, with light and shadow being important elements. For Ravenscroft, the shadows are symbolic of not only the darker parts of our human nature, but the powerful parts as well, such as emotion, intuition, sensuality, and the feminine. There is no light without shadow.
